I sorta broke my pledge to boycott the Oscars; I saw the presentation of the Best Animated Feature and Costume Design solely because I adore the Incredibles. Michael Giacchino is my new favorite American composer of 2004, my other new favorite (foreign) being Yann Tiersen. I literally started dancing around the kitchen when I heard that the Incredibles won. And now I'm pretty much boycotting the rest of the ceremony simply because no really good scores got nominated th, and Giacchino was really ripped off. Grrr.
The segment of the end titles music that was played when the Incredibles won, I think, was the segment starting at around 0:42 seconds into the track up until the vibraphone passage. Though I could swear that the terribly froody Bill Conti (it's still Conti as the conductor of the orchestra since John Williams is pretty much nominated every year?) had a vibraphone in his orchestra, which was even more hoopy than I could've wished for.
I really need to stop using so much Hitchhiker's slang. It makes me sound like I'm more of a hippy than I already am.
Edit: It's more likely that it's 0:08 into the piece to 0:29 and then 0:29 to 0:42 for the end segment of the presentation. Silly me!
And now here's another friends-list LJ meme thingy so that you don't feel like you've wasted your time reading the above.
