surrealistic randomness
Dec. 4th, 2004 01:09 pmOMG.
Apparently Michelle Pfeiffer was at the winter concert last Wednesday because her daughter was singing in the MS chorus. So she heard our bell choir and stuff. I'm in a mild state of shock to put it simply.
And I came up with almost an entire arrangement of "Sound of Silence" for bells in about ten minutes. Baah. Now I get to make Rachel help me work on some of the harmony bits, and all we have to do is write it down and memorize it for spring. It's never taken me more than thirty minutes for an arrangement, actually. "Windmills of Your Mind" took me a total of thirty minutes simply because it's a fairly long-ish piece and is in a key that's more difficult to work with. "Scarborough Fair" shouldn't be too bad, then.
I really hate flies. I absolutely despise them. I would rejoice if all of the evil little buggers were wiped off the face of the earth. Needless to say having to count seventy two fruit flies, even when they're etherized, is not very pleasant. I don't completely freak out when they wake up, but I prefer to get everything done as quickly as possible. It's kind of fun to over-etherize them and kill the little buggers off. Olivia and I must have at least a hundred and twenty flies in our stupid vial, including the larvae and newly matured adults-damn those promiscuous drosophila! I really can't wait for this lab to be over.
So I do have a sort of weird accent! Is this a massive conspiracy of some sort? I've been trying to eradicate it for years, and I thought I almost had for a moment.
Just finished all of season 3 of Alias. Can't wait for season 4 in January to start, though it'll be playing on Wednesday evenings, and I never watch TV on school nights anymore.
I need to figure out what I want to engrave on my class ring (thanks for reminding me,
glerf!).
Possible ideas:
From Pulp Fiction:
Personality goes a long way.
From The Prisoner:
I am not a number, I am a free man! (yes, that is a bit random)
I am not a number, I am a person.
He's an individual...and they're always trying.
It means what it is.
All that remains is recognition of a man.
I had some others except I can't remember them all right now. More later.
