I come to school, and many students are in mourning over the fact that Bush is re-elected. The community service coordinator of all people randomly started comforting me on the stairs even though I'm not as depressed as quite a few other militant liberals. I'm feeling mildly cynical at the moment; did they really think that Kerry was about to win? Did I want Kerry to win? Yes. Did I think he was the best candidate for the presidency in this year's election? Yes. Do I think he would've been a good president? I honestly don't know, but I think he would've done all that he could. I'm strongly considering more than ever going (for other reasons, too, mind you) to university abroad, most likely in Québecois Canada, which has its own myriad political cauldron about provincial independence. In the meantime I'm getting growing support for students who want to move to Canada. I had a really funny discussion about why New York and most of the mideast, Hawaii, and California ought to secede from the US and form their own nation of alliances. Hélas, we can but dream.

That's the way I am with organized religion, but I won't get into great detail about that at the present. I'm debating about converting again, probably to some form of Christianity, but I don't know if I'm doing it for the right reasons. For some reason my experiences with religion largely resembles the "average" person's love life; lots of disappointment and crying and angst. Yeah, I'm weird. I have reverted to agnosticism again (I was an atheist for some time), but my reasons for conversion are extremely selfish and have no good moral or intellectual grounds. Religious devotion always struck me as being an institution for the lonely and desperate, and I'm not sure if that's really the life for me. I'll have to see.

This deserves a Prisoner marathon over the weekend if only I could find any VHS tapes or DVDs within a ten mile radius of my house. Damn BBC America for replacing the Prisoner" with ANOTHER Roger Moore show, the Saint wannabe the Persuaders.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Canada. I sorta promised to join a colony of anarchists (hah, the irony!) out there sometime, and then I could visit my very cool cousins.

I'm actually also very tempted to move to Singapore, the country I did my totalitarianism project on. I'd like to see an authoritarian regime in action, and maybe find a friend who mysteriously disappeared from the online world a few years ago.

Switzerland would be quite interesting, too.

Personally I'd rather see the black and white Emma Peel Avengers episodes or Danger Man or even the black and white Saint episodes, which are supposedly quite good.

Since when were you a Saint fan? :P
