"Of course he has a knife. He always has a knife. We all have knives. It's eleven eighty-three and we're barbarians.

How clear we make it. Oh, my piglets, we're the origins of war. Not history's forces nor the times nor justices nor the lack of it nor causes nor religions nor ideas nor kinds of government nor any other thing.

We are the killers; we breed war.

We carry it, like syhpilis, inside.

Dead bodies rot in field and stream because the living ones are rotten.

For the love of God, can't we love one another just a little? That's how peace begins. We have so much to love each other for. We have such possibilities, my children. We could change the world."
-Queen Eleanor of Acquitaine, "The Lion in Winter"

How true. Did I mention I love this movie?

For some reason this quote reminds me a lot of Shirin.

Good quote. Although I think Barney had a better lover song, I'm sure it was very good in her time =P I'v actually never seen that movie. I'll add it to the ever-growing list of things I need to see.

You really do need to see it. I think it's a bloody brilliant movie anyway, but you know that I'm really biased :P. It's not really about love, more about the twistedness of life. Actually, I'm not exactly sure if it's about any one thing because there's so much going on. Rather twisted, I guess. Everyone seems to end up having an affair with anyone else. I'm sure you'd enjoy that ^_^. But seriously, the dialogue really is quite lovely. How many other movies have such interesting lines as, "I know. You know I know, I know you know, we know that Henry knows and Henry knows we know it. We're a knowledgeable family"?

The movie sounds a lot like 1776: you have to be in a particular mood to really appreciate it. Personally I think her story's fascinating. She's definately a good role model for a young girl to have *nudge nudge wink wink*. Although I'm not sure I can picture you riding off to face the muslims just yet, who knows, it could happen.

Yes, because I am such a religious extremist :P.

And Queen Eleanor of Acquitaine is really a very good role model. She's a very good schemer (sp?) and debator and can drive nearly every one mad.

And I wouldn't call myself that young of a girl. My haf birthday was just a few days ago.
