MFU folks - does this *not* sound like NS?

Plain girls always turn up for an appointment on time; attractive girls, ten minutes later; beauties, twenty minutes. But goddesses, goddesses only turn up after half an hour. So you see, I’m, ah, really fifteen minutes early. (John Drake on explaining why he's fifteen minutes late for a date)

There are other things I'd rather be doing on right now, but at the rate I'm trying to work on some new questions for work, a three-toed sloth could probably beat me. And I have the benefit of opposable thumbs.

Yep - Drake's definitely channeling Solo there. :)

And people claim that all work and no play makes Drake a dull spy :P Although generally, I think Drake would feel a lot more comfortable with IK.

Hmmm, I'm always about five minutes early for an appointment. I guess that says something about me. ;)

The laws of mortal beauty, it seems, aren't sufficient to apply to your case, I guess :)

if only he would have been such the silver-tongued devil a bit more of the time, yes?

because when he was, he was certainly one of the best at it, even if someone else wrote the lines.

good lord. i still heart the paddy, in all his incarnations, so very extremely.

I like to think that the rarity of such moments make them all more sweet :) The whole exchange with that darling French chanteuse in "The Mirror's New" and all the bits with the Spanish gov. sponsor in "A Date With Doris" heck, even that wacky German-Irish encyclopedia salesman in "Mirror" are some of my favorites from the whole series. PMCG has such a peculiarly delightful sense of charm (mischief?) that you just can't ignore, and thankfully in the later seasons we get a much greater taste of it.

You and me and a couple of others - ah, how could you not heart him? I was reading through the liner notes for ISZ this afternoon, and the writers were such fanboys for PMCG and David Jones that I started laughing.
