AAH! I have roughly half an hour before I must go home, and I have barely 1.5 pages of my play written!

And my evil world domination organization doesn't have a name yet!!!

Why can't I remember any of my then-brilliant ideas that I came up with at 2 or 6 in this morning?!

Edit: as of 10:47 tonight I still have some obvious missing chunks in the script, and I need to leave now. How am I going to finish this thing?!?!

Oh darlin', you remind me of a young self when I was forced to write plays for my Hungarian teacher (who also lead the school's drama circle) in one hour as she always wanted fresh practice pieces for her group. Once I wrote a monologue ridiculing the ultra-conservative mannerisms of my art teacher on a piece of toilet paper which was later performed with great success, but only after the names were changed.

As for the evil organization, how about STENCH (Society for the Total Extinction of Non-Conforming Humans)? I didn't invent this, it's from the hilarious spoof Carry On Spying, but I think it's rather apt - funny + menacing.

Cheers,
The Cat

I'm darlin' now, eh? :D

I owe you one; I definitely used STENCH as the world domination organization. Your comment came just in time, oh guardian angel.

What's Carry On Spying about? I'm sort of familiar with the Carry On series, but I'm afraid I don't know this one.

"I'm darlin' now, eh? :D"

Why, what else would did I call you? :p It still beats the next level when I unconsciously call people based on food items...

"What's Carry On Spying about? I'm sort of familiar with the Carry On series, but I'm afraid I don't know this one."

Well it's one of the earlier films, but it owes much more to the likes of The Third Man than to James Bond. It's actually B&W and I enjoyed it immensly even before I knew about the 007 movies. And hands down beats CR in the laughter deparment. Plus Judy Fellowes plays a formidable foe whose Irma Buntish approach would fit into a straight spy story too.

Well, I'm usually used to being called "hey, you!" but darling is much more endearing. And I'm very curious about "It still beats the next level when I unconsciously call people based on food items..." Do tell.

I'm one of the few people who really likes Casino Royale (it was the first Bond film I ever saw; I'm ashamed to admit) so if Carry On is even funnier then I have to find a copy of this movie.

Well, you never know when you get to the food item level. It usually goes from traditional compliments like "honey" to bizarre ones like "chestnut".

I'm tempted to get every Carry On movie, the only problem is that they aren't really released in Hungary. There were roughly 4-5 movies published by 4-5 different companies, which doesn't match the british release that churned out beautiful special editon boxes. I want those!

Many thanks for letting me bounce ideas off of you-the play ended up being slightly more coherent as a result! Unfortunately the computer I was working on didn't let me access e-mail, so I didn't see the evil overlord list in time. I'll look at that now.
