Many, many thanks to lacesilkvinyl for sending me the Pedrolira CD and to gandydancer for introducing me to the awesomeness known as Holden. You guys totally rock, although I don't mean to imply that you didn't before. I've been obsessively listening to them all weekend.

Hope that all is well with cutemew as she moves in to Wellesley. If you come across a field hockey player named Katie S., can you tell her that I say hi? She's a family friend's daughter to whom I haven't seen in years.

You know what's the nicest thing that happened to me last week? When dragonfly66 and me were heading towards that Japanese stationery store at the T&C, a Porsche made a really loud noise as it was backing out towards us rather quickly. As my greatest fear in life is being run over by a car, I pretty much sprinted into the store with Kerstin behind me. Two minutes later the driver came in and found us, apologizing about the loud noise and explaining that he didn't mean for us to think that he was trying to run us over. Then he smiled and walked out.

I wish I had a chance to thank the guy, but I don't think he heard me.

If I'm being disgustingly cheerful, it's because I need to find happy things that keep me from crawling into a hole about the state of the world. It's at times like these when I really start to appreciate all that's good in life and how lucky I am to know so many really wonderful people.
