Jan. 29th, 2007 01:50 amI am increasingly convinced that one never needs caffeine if one has kick ass epic soundtracks to keep one awake. Maurice Jarre's Doctor Zhivago and Elmer Bernstein's the Ten Commandments have proven to be especially effective for me, but the latter composer's Magnificent Seven and the Great Escape are not far behind.
Drinking cold water also does wonders for alertness, though. Or perhaps I'm not sufficiently taking into account the mid-night serotonin rush, which is now shifting back for me at around 1:30 AM. Maybe I ought to try some more structured experiments on myself.
