sailboats of thoughts
Feb. 13th, 2005 08:11 pmEeeh! Guess who learned how to make animated GIFs over the weekend for robotics! I still have about fifteen more to do for each robotics team member, but I've gotten the hang of it.
thehashmark has the funniest one; I think she's doing the kamikaze dance? For some reason for mine I suddenly felt like dancing and ended up trying to do some crazy high kick. I used to be really flexible, but owww. Next time I try to raise my leg to the height of my head I better stretch first! Tomorrow I must stalk more people to get photos of them being normal and doing crazy things. If I have time, I'll try to make some more nifty icons for LJ :) Edit: I just prepped a bunch of images for animation, so while at school tomorrow I'll waste part of my free periods on them :P
Went out for dim sum with
crypticonfusion,
pinkbubbles101, Renee, and Alex on Saturday. It was really nice not having to have lunch with only all adults, as usually is the case. And the pearl milk tea and the candy was also good fun. We ought to do things like that more often.
To Kill A Mockingbird is one of the best book-to-film adaptations I've ever seen. I loved this film as a kid, and after rewatching for the first time in several years I still see why it's considered to be such a classic. Engaging storyline, wonderfully acted, and beautifully shot. Gregory Peck is in top form here, and the child actors are equally good, not to mention the court room witnesses-Tom, his accuser, etc. Elmer Bernstein's score is easily one of the greatest ever written; why he didn't win an Oscar for his work I don't know. Atticus Finch reminds me of my father.
And a few vaguely amusing quizzes just for kicks:

You are Alfred Hitchcock. You have stood the test
of cinematic time and are Classic.
