applications of amateur pseudopsychology

I am increasingly convinced that one never needs caffeine if one has kick ass epic soundtracks to keep one awake.  Maurice Jarre's Doctor Zhivago and Elmer Bernstein's the Ten Commandments have proven to be especially effective for me, but the latter composer's Magnificent Seven and the Great Escape are not far behind.

Drinking cold water also does wonders for alertness, though.  Or perhaps I'm not sufficiently taking into account the mid-night serotonin rush, which is now shifting back for me at around 1:30 AM.  Maybe I ought to try some more structured experiments on myself.

I listen to Rozsa (especially Ben-Hur) when I need to be inspired. Or awake.

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind. Unfortunately I don't have any Rozsa in my collection, so I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for his works. Thanks for the recommendation!

I can upload some for you if you'd like. I went through a phase a little while ago where I obsessively sought out his works. I haven't even managed to listen to everything yet. I did, however, make the amazing discovery of the theme to Sodom and Gomorrah. Apparently there was a big 60s epic! Who knew?

Have you seen Ben-Hur?

Sodomah and Gomorra is now released by Digitmovies. It's only limited to 1000 copies, so if you want it, be quick. I'm not even sure whether there are any copies left...

Ah, their web site says it goes on sale on Feb. 5, so I still have a chance. Thank you so much! I think I'll buy it :x

Well, it goes on for sale, but there's an incredible number of pre-orders, so hurry up. I have no ideas why Digitmovies made such a limited run... hm, perhaps because of the fees? :p

I think you ought to be more careful with the use of your pronoun "one." While you may not need caffine, soundtracks may do very little for some (or even many) covered in that generalization...

So says the one addicted to chocolate-covered coffee beans :)
