stop, tell me if you've heard this one, but there were these two...

Only in my family would a wedding invitation:

a) be received 5 days after the actual wedding
b) have too much postage
c) have our last name spelled incorrectly
d) have creepy gold leaf anime cartoons on it
e) be claimed as the reason why my grandmother is currently on an operating table for a broken foot

Can you guess why we have so few family reunions nowadays?

Oh, and happy International Workers' Day!

Sounds like my family!! People have given us the weirdest impressions of my last name. I'll tell you about it later.

I used to know how to say "I work at the factory" in Russian, but I don't anymore.

I'm curious about how people misinterpret your last name now. It's not that hard...

I only know very dangerous phrases in Russian. One of them had to do with KGB assassination orders. Luckily I've been braiwashed so I can't consciously remember them.

I've gotten Bevito, Bevite, Deviai (no clue how to pronounce that), Bavito, Vito, Vite, Vita....but most commonly we get deVito, deBito (does that even SOUND Italian?)...... and they always forget to capitalize both the D and V, and they always put a space between the De and V.

P.S. The Russian'll come back. Just play some Enya.
