Ewww. Some animal, most likely a dog, pooped on the morning newspaper.

Been procrastinating on my subculture analysis essay for three days straight. Impressive, huh? It's due at 9 PM on Thursday. I still have time to finish it, as long as I don't procrastinate too much more.

Wait a minute, that's what I've been saying for the last three days. Ha! Fat chance.

Hey, this is a great editorial idea! Hee hee *left eye twitches very slightly*.

Been plotting out things for the paper. I never realized how much work it would be. I've talked to Canny for at least an hour and forty-five minutes on the phone within the last two days just planning everything. We still haven't decided whether or not the paper will be 2, 3, or 4 pages. Oy vey. And Caitlin wants to expand her section, though we don't know really how much. And I have to write a bunch of editorials and somewhat personal columns and junk. At least I have period 2 free the first semester. At the moment we need staff, a working digital camera, and the knowledge of how to use the new layout program. Essentially everything. She keeps on telling me not to worry, that if we survive the first week we'll be fine. Then she contradicted herself.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Someone please write and take pictures for us and stuff!

We have one staff member, and that's Sophia. I was hoping to have at least 5 writers, preferably consistent. And a photographer. I was thinking about asking the new photography course teacher, Shrimpy (as my former roommate Ann knows, I hate her), to ask her students to take photos for us (photography seems to be really popular and people actually want to take it, and the commitment wouldn't really be that much and all), but it seems rather low to have to ask Shrimpy for a favor. So I'll make Canny do it instead *evil grin*. Ah, the benefits of still being just an assistant editor...

Argh. We need a slave, I mean, helper, to help us deliver the papers to everyone's mailboxes in the morning. No matter what. Argh. I do not relish the thought of having to wake up earlier than 6:35. During the school year I don't get enough sleep anyways. And someone better be able to fold the possible 3-4 page paper in half, because I can't fold anything prettily for beans or barley or bread or butter or anything else for that matter. The only oragami thing that I actually fold is a flower pot. A stupid lowly flowerpot. Well, my flowerpots do look pretty. But this is really besides the point.

Wait a minute, did I have a point to begin with? I think I did, but I don't remember what it was. Ah well. I don't think it really matters at the moment.

I'm supposed to make up some reporter training handouts. Argh. I'll probably print most of the things off this one website Canny gave me. Maybe I ought to find that honor code thingy from lat year. Why a newspaper needs an honor code, I don't know. Those reporters better not make up quotes. Maybe we have in years past, but that doesn't mean that we ought to keep on doing it. The yearbook is infamous for making up quotes, but Counterpoint isn't just yet. It better not be. I'm not the quote-making-up type of editor. I mean, assistant editor. Oh, what the heck. Does it really matter? I have to find those handouts somewhere, the ones I got last year.

Note to self: find day to set up locker. And call that paper office. Right. I'll probably forget, knowing my pathetic short term memory.

Well, it was actually pretty good this weekend. I don't think I forgot anything. I'm pretty sure I didn't. I actually don't remember if I did at the moment...
