I tell people that I first learned English from my mother who spoke like a BBC announcer, and during my many trips when I was little to then-colonial Hong Kong I was surrounded by the Asian-British accent. It's very distinctive, although I personally don't recognize those speech patterns in my own voice.
I haven't seen Shawn of the Dead before. I should, prolly.
I have to go find a cheap digital camera, but my roommate, Danielle, promised to bring her camera when some friends and I go into Boston tomorrow. That should be exciting.
