the results on most of the propositions in CA were terrible, in my opinion. the state is in a huge budget crisis and people irresponsibly voted for all sorts of bond measures that our generation will be stuck paying for. at some point i don't care how worthy the cause is, fiscal responsibility must come first and california is too full of bleeding hearts to understand that. we also can't afford to lose our state's economic edge, and while the farm animal and green power initiatives won't do that entirely, it certainly reduces it in a time where we need all the economic activity we can get. that's my opinion.
can you explain why you think the redistricting will disenfranchise people? i wanted redistricting, the number of safe seats in our state (and our country) is ridiculous and unacceptable, and frankly i think it's good that this might result in some more serious competition. if actually having to fight to win a seat = disenfranchisement, or not having a representative from your own race or party = disenfranchisement, then sure, i guess it's disenfranchisement. but if that's all it is, im in favor of competition so count me as in favor of that "disenfranchisement."
