My grand uncle who was like my grandfather died about two weeks ago. It's OK now; I'd like to think he's at peace.

Interviews are rarely required, although they tend to be somewhat helpful. I'm pretty sure that Scripps requires an interview as all of the Claremont Colleges require interviews. It's a really easy interview, though, especially for someone as terrific and brilliant as you :D
