My theory is that Americans are all closet Anglophiles; they are fascinated by the "old worlde" traditions and history of Britain since the American nation itself is about 230 odd years old. More Americans support the British royals than the British, probably because their tax dollars don't go to funding their lifestyles. Meanwhile, many Brits seem to think of Americans as dummy hicks. Folks abroad except for the Americans seem to prefer the Canadians to the Americans.

Americans think that their own accents are dull and stupid. Or maybe that's just me...
